The purpose of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.'s Social Action Committee is to promote social justice, civic engagement, and advocacy in alignment with the Sorority’s mission to support and uplift African American communities and society at large.

Key objectives of the Social Action Committee include:

• Educating members and communities on important social, political, and economic issues affecting marginalized populations.
  Encouraging voter registration, participation, and education to strengthen democratic involvement and representation.

• Organizing and participating in advocacy efforts, protests, and public policy initiatives that address civil rights, equality, and social reform.

• Collaborating with community organizations, government agencies, and coalitions to effect meaningful change.

• Promoting awareness and action on issues such as criminal justice reform, education equity, health disparities, and economic empowerment.

 

Through its work, the Social Action Committee embodies Delta Sigma Theta’s commitment to service, activism, and leadership, inspiring members to be agents of change in their communities and beyond.
